Automation Builder is a Windows software oriented toward professional engineers. It allows users to create graphical menus for the Human Machine Interfaces from ABB.
Installation
You can run the included executable file to begin setting up the program. There are multiple tools included in the suite such as HMI Client, Panel Builder, IP Configuration, CodeMeter Control Center, etc. It is necessary to install the ABB License Manager as well for activating other components.
It is worth mentioning that Automation Builder is compatible only with the ABB devices. Users can download PM Designer to work with Fatek HMIs.
Creating interfaces
You are able to build new menus and panels for any compatible HMI hardware. A Project Wizard instrument is provided for easier configuration. It allows you to select one of the included devices or create a custom panel.
Tools for adding new buttons, triggers and switches to the interface are available. Users can insert alarms, database links and alpha-numeric keypads for entering any values. Moreover, screensaver support is included for hiding the interface when it is not active.
There is an option to test the finished project to detect any errors and inefficiencies. This functionality is useful for troubleshooting and optimizing the program.
