AudioCatalyst is a Windows program for ripping Audio CDs to the computer hard drive. It is possible to automatically fill the artist names and song titles. The required information is loaded from an online database.
Grabbing music
You are able to select any CD-ROM drive installed in the system. The input audio card can be specified as well. There is a checkbox for muting computer speakers while ripping the songs.
Instruments for manually filling the artist and song names as well as the album titles are provided. Alternatively, users can utilize the online CDDB database to automatically specify all file attributes.
Adding pauses before and after each track is possible. There is a slider for changing overall volume. After configuring all parameters you are able to select the destination directory for the finished files. Clicking the Grab button in the main window will begin the process.
Additional capabilities
Users can convert any WAV tracks into the more compact MP3 format without losing the sound quality. This feature is helpful for decreasing the size of the music library.
This software includes the XingMP3 audio player. You are able to create new playlists and adjust the sound balance. There are much more powerful solutions for audio playback like Winamp.
