Army Builder is a Windows tool that lets users create and edit tabletop RPGs. There are flexible parameters for making custom characters and other components. Users are able to download standard rulebooks for multiple popular franchises such as The Lord of The Rings and Warhammer 40K.

Interface

The main window contains a list of your units with detailed descriptions of their abilities. Tuning the characteristics such as the power, toughness, health points and other in-game attributes is possible. Moreover, you can create entirely new abilities and weaknesses.

Double-clicking the unit adds it to the main roster. This functionality is helpful for testing the compatibility of different character classes. Users are able to import images for the units in any popular picture format.

To quickly display basic information about any character you can hover over its name with a mouse cursor. It is possible to access the detailed description by right-clicking on the name of the unit and selecting the corresponding menu.

It is worth noting that this tool is intended for developing tabletop characters and rules. To create computer games users can download GameMaker.

Rules

There are tools for designing custom rules. You can configure world parameters and develop new scenarios. Extensive tutorials and guides are provided.

Please note that Army Builder is a paid program. The free demo version does not allow users to save new units.
