ArmWin is a Windows software for estimating the insulation panel thickness that is necessary to protect building equipment and industrial installations from heat or cold. It is designed to work with the Armaflex line of products. The program is certified by FIW Munich, one of the leading German thermal insulation research facilities.

Calculation options

After starting the application you can select the correct country, language and measurement unit system. The next step is to select the required operation type. It is possible to calculate minimum insulation thickness for condensation control, outer surface temperature, heat flow and freezing times to find the most economical thermal solutions. There is support for various object types such as pipes, ducts and cylindrical vessels.

Users are able to change the source material. Available options include steel, plastic, copper and stainless steel. Similar to PipeData PRO, the nominal size, outer diameter and wall thickness are adjustable. Additionally, there are drop down menus for choosing the insulation material and specifying the surface emissivity.

Results

The projected amount of heat flow and target surface temperature are displayed in the main window after the calculation is complete. You can view an estimated thermal transmittance value as well.
