Ares is an open source BitTorrent and chat program for Windows that uses its own decentralized peer-to-peer network. It allows you to share any digital file including images, audio, video, software, documents, etc.

Functionality

After the quick installation process, you can get started downloading torrents right away. The application has an internal file search engine, which you are able to access by clicking the corresponding tab. There, you have the option to enter the title and begin looking for the items you want.

If there are multiple kinds of media such as books, movies and TV shows with the same name, you may filter the results based on the content type. If the desired files are available for download, you can double click it and start the transmission.

It is worth noting that this software was designed to run in the background, undetected by firewalls. This means that you do not need to configure any network settings.

Media playback

The utility has an in-built media player. With it you are able to preview files while they are still downloading. Moreover, it works with Shoutcast Internet radio. You can select from a large list of available broadcasts categorized into sections like Dance, Electronic, News and Religion.

Chat function

Additionally, the program offers chat functionality. It allows you to create IRC channels or join existing ones. You are able to exchange both text and voice messages with other users. It is also possible to send animated stickers
