AMD Catalyst is a Windows driver that allows you to configure advanced AMD GPU parameters. It enables the Virtual Super Resolution and Frame Rate Target Control technologies on compatible devices.

Installation instructions

This software is intended for Radeon R9, R5 and HD desktop graphics card series. There is support for multiple mobile GPU models as well. The Microsoft NET Framework utility is included in the package.

After starting the setup wizard you can select between the express and custom installation modes. Additionally, it is possible to specify a non-standard target location for the program. The rest of the process is performed automatically. The screen may switch on and off several times during driver integration.

Main capabilities

With the help of this application users can enable the Virtual Super Resolution technology for downscaling the image to achieve better quality. The Frame Rate Target Control module provides tools for limiting the maximum refresh speed. This functionality is helpful for lowering fan speeds, reducing system temperature and lowering GPU power consumption. There is support for AMD FreeSync and CrossFire as well.
