ALZip is a Windows software for creating compressed archives and extracting files from existing packages. It is possible to integrate additional items in the Explorer context menu for quick access to main functions.

Data archiving

After starting the utility users are instructed to drag and drop any files into the workspace for compressing them into a single package. The list of added items can be sorted by name, original size, file type, modification date and other attributes. Moreover, there are several view modes such as icons, list and details for easier navigation.

Like in WinRAR, it is possible to split large packages into pieces of predefined size. This functionality is helpful for burning archives to optical discs. Supported output formats include ZIP, ALZ, TAR, LZH and other options. You can adjust the compression level. A checkbox for automatically erasing original files upon operation completion is included.

Please note that the free trial version of ALZip will stop working 60 days after installation.

Encryption

There are instruments for protecting archived data from unauthorized access by setting a personal password. Several encryption algorithms such as ZIP 2.0 and AES 256 bit are supported.
