Aethera is an old PIM program for Windows that enables you to manage personal information, including emails, contacts, notes, tasks, to-do lists, journals, and more. There are various communications features regarding sending or receiving messages, appointment requests, and more. For example, you have the possibility to know the world news and see the current weather.

General notes

The application supports the standard messaging protocols such as IMAP and POP. It also offers all the features you would expect to find in an email system. In addition to the personal calendar and scheduler, you can pin sticky notes, write to-do lists, organize address books, etc.

It is worth mentioning the compatibility with Kolab, and optional plugins which are able to extend the idea of collaboration with instant messaging, voice over IP, and more. Thus, you have the ability to share your personal agenda with colleagues, arrange meetings and discover possible schedule conflicts.

Advanced functions

Through the use of Jabber the developers have integrated not only a messaging client, but also the dedicated whiteboarding tool. This allows you to communicate with co-workers anywhere in the world and easily share key ideas and concepts. The module also supports file transfer between clients. Alternatively, you may try PalTalk or Thunderbird.
