ActiveSync is a Windows program that allows users to transfer data from mobile devices to the computer and vice versa. It is compatible only with obsolete Windows Mobile phones.

Installation prerequisites

This software can be set up on Windows XP or earlier. Modern operating systems are not supported. The Microsoft Outlook email client is necessary to access all features. Additionally, you are prompted to install the driver package for the mobile device before starting the utility.

It is worth mentioning that this app does not work with Apple devices. Users can download iTunes to transfer files to an iPhone.

Connection and synchronization

You are able to transfer data over the USB cable or docking station. Moreover, it is possible to connect the phone via Bluetooth or infrared port.

The Outlook email client contents can be transferred over to the phone via the Microsoft Exchange Server. Personal calendar entries are available as well.

There are options for synchronizing personal notes, contact lists, photos, documents, messages and other types of data. Users can copy files to and from the device.

Please note that ActiveSync is discontinued and no longer supported by the developer. All its main functionality is included in Windows Vista and newer.
