7 Data Recovery is a Windows software for scanning logical partitions to detect accidentally erased and corrupted files. Identified items can be automatically restored to their original location or saved in a separate folder.

Scan

The first step is to choose the drive for analysis. The device list can be sorted by model, capacity and connection method. After that users are instructed to click the Search for lost data button to begin the operation. Restorable files will be displayed in the main window when the process is complete.

Similar to Zero Assumption Recovery, there is support for recovering information from complex RAID arrays. You are able to save scan results to resume the operation at a later time as well.

Data restoration

Users can preview detected files before recovering them. All found items are automatically placed in the corresponding virtual folder for easier management. Default categories include pictures, videos, audio, documents, archives and other.

An option to select multiple items and restore them all at once is provided. Moreover, the target directory is customizable. It is strongly recommended to not write recovered data to the physical drive with source files.
