Using this application, you can create integrated circuits and calculate required voltage. It is also possible to configure a wide range of associated parameters.
555 Timer
555 Timer is a program for Windows that enables electronic engineers and students in designing 555 timer integrated circuits. It is capable of calculating capacitor and resistor values in accordance with the specified voltage.
General notes
The utility was designed to assist you in the effort of performing complex calculations by hand. Therefore you are able to save time you would typically invest in such an operation. It is necessary to mention that the tool can deal with both astable and monostable circuits. Moreover, it provides visual electronic representations for each of the aforementioned schematics.
Operation
After a quick and uneventful installation process, you are able to get acquainted with the graphical user interface, which is divided into three main tabs. In the first one, you need to enter the circuit voltage. Please note that you have the option to choose if your timer is a CMOS model, as calculations for this particular IC type have slight differences. Alternatively, you may use a special program called Microwind.
The next two tabs are intended for the monostable and astable schematics, with each of them displaying a visual architecture of the circuit. If you pick the first type, you are prompted to specify the ON Time value of the circuit, while the second allows you to configure the frequency and duty cycle in percentage.
